ZIEP’s GDP in 2008 reached a record of RMB 2 billion (US$ 293 million) up 33% from RMB 1.5 billion (US$ 220 million) in 2007 which was only the park’s second full year of activity.
ZIEP is a stage to countless private industrial, commercial and construction companies, as well as an array of service enterprises. It is also considered a center of knowledge creation, attracting high-tech companies and R&D organizations, particularly in the petrochemical and manufacturing industries.
The core of the Park’s recent success is its unparalleled logistical strength. ZIEP is served by some of China’s foremost transportation links, as well as the multi-functional Huanghua Seaport with an average export volume over 1 billion tons annually.
ZIEP is actively cooperating with surrounding development zones such as Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) and Hebei Baoding New and High-Tech Zone, creating an open and dynamic business environment for investors.
